Effect of Jianpi Ditan Zhu Yu Formula Combined with Betahistine Hydrochloride on Patients with Posterior Circulation Ischemic Vertigo

Abstract：Objective: To explore the effect of Jianpi Ditan Zhu Yu Formula as an adjuvant therapy in patients with posterior circulation ischemic vertigo. Methods: A total of 106 patients with posterior circulation ischemic vertigo admitted to Zhengzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Bone Injury Hospital from February 2022 to February 2024 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into a basic group and an observation group using a random number table method, with 53 cases in each group. The basic group received betahistine hydrochloride treatment, while the observation group received additional treatment with Jianpi Ditan Zhu Yu Formula. The clinical efficacy, TCM syndrome scores, cerebral hemodynamic indicators, coagulation function, and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the basic group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores of the observation group were lower than those of the basic group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). After treatment, the mean blood flow velocities of the left vertebral artery (LVA), right vertebral artery (RVA), and basilar artery (BA) in the observation group were higher than those in the basic group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). After treatment, the prothrombin time (PT) and activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) of the observation group were longer than those of the basic group, while the fibrinogen (FIB) level was lower and the D-dimer (D-D) level was higher, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). No obvious adverse reactions were observed in either group. Conclusion: The combination of Jianpi Ditan Zhu Yu Formula and betahistine hydrochloride can improve the clinical effect, relieve symptoms, improve cerebral blood circulation status and coagulation function, without increasing the risk of adverse reactions.
