Abstract:Objective: To investigate the effect of Sheng Huangqi Buyang Huanwu Decoction formulated based on the theory of 'Fire and Vital Qi Cannot Coexist' on patients with ischemic stroke. Methods: A total of 98 patients with ischemic stroke admitted to Henan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September 2022 to August 2024 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, each with 49 cases. The control group received conventional treatment, while the observation group received treatment with Sheng Huangqi Buyang Huanwu Decoction formulated based on the theory of 'Fire and Vital Qi Cannot Coexist'. The scores of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome, neurological function, and clinical efficacy before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the scores for hemiplegia, facial deviation, shortness of breath, and drooling in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After treatment, the NIHSS score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Sheng Huangqi Buyang Huanwu Decoction formulated based on the theory of 'Fire and Vital Qi Cannot Coexist' is helpful in alleviating clinical symptoms, improving neurological function, and enhancing the clinical efficacy in patients with ischemic stroke.
