Observation on the Effect of Ginkgo Biloba Extract Combined with Butylphthalide in the Treatment of Acute Cerebral Infarction
Abstract:Objective: To investigate the effect of Ginkgo biloba extract combined with butylphthalide in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction. Methods: A total of 200 patients with acute cerebral infarction admitted to Anyang Third People's Hospital from May 2021 to August 2024 were selected as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, each with 100 cases. The control group received butylphthalide treatment, while the observation group received additional Ginkgo biloba extract treatment on top of the control group's treatment. The changes in traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores, hemorheological indicators, lipid levels, neurological function, and daily living abilities were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results: After treatment, the scores for dizziness, hemiplegia, numbness, and white greasy tongue coating in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, as well as the levels of whole blood high shear viscosity, whole blood low shear viscosity, plasma viscosity, and fibrinogen. The serum total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels were also lower in the observation group. The NIHSS score was lower, while the ADL score was higher in the observation group. All these differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Treating patients with acute cerebral infarction with Ginkgo biloba extract combined with butylphthalide can effectively alleviate clinical symptoms, promote blood perfusion, regulate lipid levels, improve neurological function, and enhance daily living abilities.
