Clinical Observation of the Effect of Biejia Jianwan Combined with Probiotics in the Treatment of Liver Cirrhosis
Abstract:Objective: To analyze the clinical effect of Biejia Jianwan combined with probiotics in the treatment of liver cirrhosis. Methods: A total of 75 patients with liver cirrhosis admitted to Qiaoli Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in Dumen District, Zhuhai City from January 2021 to May 2024 were selected as the study subjects and divided into an observation group (38 cases) and a control group (37 cases) according to different treatment methods. Both groups received routine treatment, and the control group was further treated with probiotics on top of routine treatment, while the observation group was treated with Biejia Jianwan in addition to the treatment of the control group. The levels of liver function, blood routine, and serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) were compared between the two groups, as well as the occurrence of adverse reactions. Results: After 1 week, 2 weeks, and 4 weeks of treatment, the levels of serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT), total bilirubin (TBIL), direct bilirubin (DBIL), and hs-CRP in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, while the platelet (PLT) count and white blood cell (WBC) count were higher in the observation group. These differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the overall incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion: Biejia Jianwan combined with probiotics can effectively improve the indicators of liver function and blood routine in patients with liver cirrhosis, inhibit inflammatory responses, and does not increase adverse reactions.
