Clinical Effect of Chaihu Jia Longgu Muli Decoction Combined with Zexie Decoction on Vertigo
Abstract:Objective: To explore the clinical efficacy of Chaihu Jia Longgu Muli Decoction combined with Zexie Decoction in the treatment of patients with vertigo. Methods: A total of 80 patients with vertigo treated at Xinyang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from March 2023 to March 2024 were selected as the study subjects. According to different treatment methods, they were divided into a control group and a treatment group, each with 40 cases. The control group received conventional Western medical symptomatic treatment, while the treatment group received additional treatment with Chaihu Jia Longgu Muli Decoction combined with Zexie Decoction on top of the control group's treatment. The clinical efficacy, TCM syndrome scores, symptom improvement, vertigo conditions, and vertebral-basilar artery blood flow velocity were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of the treatment group (95.00%) was higher than that of the control group (72.50%), with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores for vertigo, tinnitus, headache, and deafness in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the symptom improvement time and duration of episodes in the treatment group were shorter than those in the control group, and the frequency of episodes was lower, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the Dizziness and Anxiety Rating Scale (DARS) scores of the treatment group were lower than those of the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the blood flow velocities of the left vertebral artery, right vertebral artery, and basilar artery in the treatment group were faster than those in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Chaihu Jia Longgu Muli Decoction combined with Zexie Decoction has a significant effect in the treatment of vertigo, effectively alleviating the patient's vertigo symptoms, reducing the frequency of vertigo attacks, shortening the time of symptom improvement and the duration of episodes, and improving cerebral blood flow.
