Effect of Fuzheng Huayu Pills Combined with Tenofovir Alafenamide on Serum Inflammatory Factors in Patients with Chronic Hepatitis B

Abstract：Objective: To analyze the effect of Fuzheng Huayu Pills combined with Tenofovir Alafenamide on serum hepatitis B virus ribonucleic acid (HBV RNA) and related serum inflammatory factor levels in patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB). Methods: A total of 66 CHB patients admitted to the Tong'an Branch of the First Hospital Affiliated to Xiamen University from January 2023 to February 2024 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, each with 33 cases. The control group received Tenofovir Alafenamide treatment, while the observation group received Tenofovir Alafenamide combined with Fuzheng Huayu Pills. The serum HBV RNA levels, serum inflammatory factor levels, liver function, and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the serum HBV RNA levels of both groups were lower than before treatment, and the observation group had lower levels than the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After treatment, the serum levels of transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) in both groups were lower than before treatment, and the observation group had lower levels than the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After treatment, the serum levels of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT), and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) in both groups were lower than before treatment, and the observation group had lower levels than the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the overall incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion: The combination of Fuzheng Huayu Pills and Tenofovir Alafenamide can reduce the serum HBV RNA and inflammatory factor levels in CHB patients, while also improving liver function.
