Efficacy of Bushen Zhidai Decoction Combined with Qingre Tongling External Wash on Patients with Senile Vaginitis
Abstract:Objective: To explore the efficacy of Bushen Zhidai Decoction combined with Qingre Tongling External Wash in the treatment of senile vaginitis (SV). Methods: A total of 80 patients with SV admitted to Qiannshan County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2021 to June 2022 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, each with 40 cases. The control group received conventional Western medical treatment, while the observation group received Bushen Zhidai Decoction combined with Qingre Tongling External Wash on top of the control group's treatment. The clinical efficacy, serum inflammatory factor levels, serum sex hormone levels, TCM syndrome scores, incidence of adverse reactions, and recurrence rates were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group (92.50%) was higher than that of the control group (77.50%), with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the serum interleukin (IL)-2 level of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, while the serum IL-4 and C-reactive protein (CRP) levels were lower, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After treatment, the serum estradiol (E2) level of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, while the follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) levels were lower, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After treatment, the TCM syndrome score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). The total incidence of adverse reactions and recurrence rate in the observation group were both lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Bushen Zhidai Decoction combined with Qingre Tongling External Wash has a significant clinical effect in treating SV, which can reduce the inflammatory response, improve sex hormone levels, relieve clinical symptoms, and has a high safety profile.
