Application Effect of Jinbi Caocao Pailishi Mixture in Postoperative Auxiliary Stone Elimination for Patients with Urinary System Stones
Abstract:Objective: To investigate the application effect of Jinbi Caocao Pailishi Mixture in postoperative auxiliary stone elimination for patients with urinary system stones. Methods: A total of 90 patients with urinary system stones who visited Zhumadian Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from August 2020 to September 2022 were selected as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group using a random number table method, with 45 cases in each group. All patients received extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) treatment. The control group received intravenous levofloxacin for anti-infection after surgery, while the observation group received additional Jinbi Caocao Pailishi Mixture treatment on top of the control group's treatment. The clinical efficacy, time of symptom relief and disappearance, serum cytokine levels, serum biomarker levels, and recurrence rates were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group (95.56%) was higher than that in the control group (77.78%), with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). The time for visible hematuria to disappear, the time for lumbar pain to alleviate, and the time for stone clearance were all shorter in the observation group than in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Seven days after surgery, the serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), endothelin-1 (ET-1), and epidermal growth factor (EGF) in both groups were higher than those 12 hours after surgery, but the levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Seven days after surgery, the serum levels of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and somatostatin (SST) in both groups were higher than those 12 hours after surgery, and the levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group. The serum levels of 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHDG) in both groups were lower than those 12 hours after surgery, and the levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the recurrence rate between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion: Postoperative administration of Jinbi Caocao Pailishi Mixture for patients with urinary system stones shows significant therapeutic effects, effectively shortening the time for stone clearance, relieving clinical symptoms, protecting vascular endothelial cells, and reducing inflammatory responses.
