Clinical Effect of Xiaoban Fumai Decoction Combined with External Counterpulsation in the Treatment of Unstable Angina Pectoris with Phlegm-Stasis Syndrome
Abstract:Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of Xiaoban Fumai Decoction combined with external counterpulsation in the treatment of unstable angina pectoris with phlegm-stasis syndrome. Methods: A total of 83 patients with unstable angina pectoris with phlegm-stasis syndrome admitted to the Third Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2022 to February 2024 were selected as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into an observation group (42 cases) and a control group (41 cases) according to the random number table method. The control group received conventional Western medical treatment, while the observation group received Xiaoban Fumai Decoction combined with external counterpulsation on the basis of the control group. The clinical efficacy, total TCM syndrome score, frequency of angina attacks, nitroglycerin usage, serum inflammatory factor levels, and vascular endothelial function were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group (92.86%) was higher than that of the control group (75.61%), with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the TCM syndrome score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the frequency of angina attacks and the amount of nitroglycerin used in the observation group were less than those in the control group, and the duration of angina attacks was shorter, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After treatment, the levels of serum C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin (IL)-6, and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, while the level of serum IL-10 was higher, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After treatment, the levels of serum vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and nitric oxide (NO) in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, while the level of serum endothelin-1 (ET-1) was lower, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Xiaoban Fumai Decoction combined with external counterpulsation has a good clinical effect in the treatment of unstable angina pectoris with phlegm-stasis syndrome, which can reduce the frequency of angina attacks, shorten the duration of angina attacks, and reduce the use of nitroglycerin. It can also improve the patient's symptoms, regulate the levels of serum inflammatory factors, and optimize vascular endothelial function.
