CT Observation of the Efficacy and Imaging Signs of Minimally Invasive Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion (MIS-TLIF) in the Treatment of Degenerative Lumbar Spondylolisthesis
Abstract:Objective: To analyze the efficacy and imaging signs of computerized tomography (CT) in observing minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (MIS-TLIF) for the treatment of degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis. Methods: A total of 60 patients with degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis admitted to Kaifeng Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2023 to December 2023 were enrolled as study subjects. They were randomly divided into control group and observation group using a random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group received traditional posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF), while the observation group received MIS-TLIF. The general surgical conditions, pain levels, lumbar function, intervertebral fusion conditions, and imaging indicators were compared between the two groups. One patient with degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis was randomly selected to analyze the CT imaging signs before and after MIS-TLIF treatment. Results: The intraoperative blood loss and postoperative drainage volume in the observation group were less than those in the control group, while the operation time was longer, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). On postoperative day 7 and 3 months, the visual analog scale (VAS) scores and Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group at the same period, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Three months after surgery, the lumbar spondylolisthesis angle and the height of the surgical intervertebral space and lumbar lordosis angle were greater than pre-surgery in both groups, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05), but there was no statistically significant difference between the groups (P > 0.05). Postoperative CT follow-up showed no statistically significant difference in intervertebral fusion rate between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion: MIS-TLIF for degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis can reduce postoperative pain and lumbar dysfunction, decrease intraoperative blood loss and drainage, and improve postoperative intervertebral fusion rate.
