Effect of Shengdu Huaiyu Decoction Combined with Jiuhua Hemorrhoid Suppository on Symptom Improvement and Quality of Life in Patients with Non-surgical Hemorrhoids
Abstract：Objective: To evaluate the effect of Shengdu Huaiyu Decoction combined with Jiuhua Hemorrhoid Suppository in patients with non-surgical hemorrhoids and its impact on symptom improvement and quality of life. Methods: A total of 84 patients with non-surgical hemorrhoids admitted to Xiamen Third Hospital from July 2022 to July 2023 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, each with 42 cases. The control group was treated with Jiuhua Hemorrhoid Suppository, while the observation group received additional treatment with Shengdu Huaiyu Decoction. The improvement time of symptoms, scores of the Chinese version of the Hemorrhoid and Anal Fissure Quality of Life Scale (HF-QoL-C), serum indicators [interferon-γ (IFN-γ), transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β)], and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: The improvement time for all symptoms (edema, pain, bleeding, abnormal anal shape) in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, the HF-QoL-C score, IFN-γ, and TGF-β levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05). The total incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group and the control group was 7.14% and 23.81%, respectively, with the observation group having a lower rate (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Shengdu Huaiyu Decoction combined with Jiuhua Hemorrhoid Suppository in patients with non-surgical hemorrhoids is beneficial for improving clinical symptoms, optimizing overall quality of life, and further preventing adverse reactions.
