Diagnostic Value of Combined Detection of IL-17, ANA, Anti-SSA, and Anti-SSB in Sjögren's Syndrome
Abstract:Objective: To evaluate the significance of combined detection of interleukin-17 (IL-17), antinuclear antibody (ANA), anti-Sjögren's syndrome (SS) antigen A (SSA), and anti-SS antigen B (SSB) in SS. Methods: A total of 92 SS patients treated at Fenyang Hospital, Shanxi Province from March 2020 to March 2023 were selected as the SS group, and 80 healthy individuals who underwent physical examination during the same period were selected as the control group. Serum IL-17 levels were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), ANA was detected by indirect immunofluorescence assay (IFA), and anti-SSA and anti-SSB were detected by immunoblotting (IBT). The levels of IL-17 and autoantibodies in patients and healthy individuals were compared, and the diagnostic efficacy of the four indicators was analyzed using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves. Results: The IL-17 level in the SS group was higher than that in the control group, and the positive detection rates of ANA, anti-SSA, anti-SSB, and IL-17 were also higher in the SS group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). ROC curve analysis showed that the area under the curve (AUC) for individual detection of ANA, anti-SSA, anti-SSB, and IL-17 was 0.960, 0.858, 0.712, and 0.963, respectively, while the AUC for combined detection was 0.986, which was the highest. Conclusion: Combined detection of IL-17, ANA, anti-SSA, and anti-SSB has high diagnostic value for SS.
