Application Effect of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Combined with Shen-Tuning Acupuncture in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Language Developmental Delay
Abstract：Objective: To analyze the combined application effect of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and shen-tuning acupuncture in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) accompanied by language developmental delay. Methods: A total of 180 children with ASD and language developmental delay admitted to the Department of Child Health Care, Zhoukou Central Hospital from October 2018 to October 2020 were included in the study. They were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, each with 90 cases. The control group received conventional rehabilitation training, while the observation group received TMS combined with shen-tuning acupuncture on top of the control group's treatment. The therapeutic effects, autism symptoms, and language abilities of the two groups were compared. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group (90.00%) was higher than that of the control group (75.56%), with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the scores of the Autism Treatment Evaluation Scale (ATEC) in both groups were lower than before treatment, and the observation group had lower scores than the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the scores of the Verbal Behavior Assessment Scale (VerBAS) in both groups were significantly higher than before treatment, and the observation group had higher scores than the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). Conclusion: TMS combined with shen-tuning acupuncture has a significant effect in treating ASD with language developmental delay, which can effectively improve autism symptoms and language ability.
