Effect of Compound Pianzhihuang Hemorrhoid Ointment Combined with Ear Acupoint Therapy on Inflammatory Expression and Pain in Patients with Grade III-IV Hemorrhoids After Surgery
Abstract：Objective: To analyze the clinical effect of compound pianzhihuang hemorrhoid ointment combined with ear acupoint therapy in patients with grade III-IV hemorrhoids after surgery, as well as the impact of this therapy on inflammatory expression and pain. Methods: A total of 66 patients with grade III-IV hemorrhoids treated at Tong'an Branch, The First Hospital Affiliated to Xiamen University from February 2022 to November 2023 were selected as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into an observation group (33 cases, compound pianzhihuang hemorrhoid ointment combined with ear acupoint therapy) and a control group (33 cases, conventional treatment). The clinical efficacy, time to first defecation (defecation time, urination time, duration of defecation), levels of C-reactive protein (CRP), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), pain intensity, and quality of life before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group (93.90%) was higher than that of the control group (81.80%), with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). The time to first defecation and urination, as well as the duration of defecation in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After treatment, the levels of CRP, TNF-α, and IL-6 in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After treatment, the visual analog scale (VAS) score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, while the Barthel Index (BI) score was higher, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Using compound pianzhihuang hemorrhoid ointment combined with ear acupoint therapy after surgery for grade III-IV hemorrhoids can reduce inflammatory expression, relieve postoperative pain, shorten postoperative defecation time, and improve the quality of life of patients after surgery.
