Clinical Study on the Treatment of Cervical Spondylosis with Sympathetic Type Using Meridian Syndrome Differentiation Acupuncture Combined with Moxibustion at Both Fengchi and Fengmen Points
Abstract:Objective: To explore the effect of meridian syndrome differentiation acupuncture combined with moxibustion at both Fengchi and Fengmen points in the treatment of cervical spondylosis with sympathetic type. Methods: A total of 140 patients with cervical spondylosis with sympathetic type treated at Ganzhou No.5 People's Hospital from December 2022 to December 2023 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into control group and observation group, each with 70 cases. The control group was given conventional Western medicine treatment, while the observation group received meridian syndrome differentiation acupuncture combined with moxibustion at both Fengchi and Fengmen points on the basis of conventional Western medicine treatment. The scores of cervical spondylosis symptoms, pain level, clinical efficacy, quality of life, hospitalization duration, and adverse events were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results: After treatment, the scores of cervical spondylosis symptoms and Visual Analog Scale (VAS) scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). After treatment, the total effective rate of clinical treatment in the observation group (98.57%) was significantly higher than that in the control group (87.14%), with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of the Short Form-36 Health Survey (SF-36) in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). The hospitalization duration in the observation group was significantly shorter than that in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). No obvious adverse reactions were observed in either group before and after treatment. Conclusion: The application of meridian syndrome differentiation acupuncture combined with moxibustion at both Fengchi and Fengmen points in the treatment of cervical spondylosis with sympathetic type can improve the symptoms of cervical spondylosis, show significant clinical efficacy, enhance the quality of life of patients, promote recovery, and has a high level of safety.
