Effect of Traditional Chinese Medicine Targeted Drug Permeation Therapy Combined with Core Muscle Training on Postoperative Rehabilitation in Patients with Lumbar Disc Herniation
Abstract:Objective: To explore the effect of traditional Chinese medicine targeted drug permeation therapy combined with core muscle training on postoperative rehabilitation in patients with lumbar disc herniation (LDH). Methods: A total of 90 LDH patients treated at Zhengzhou Orthopedic Hospital from February 2022 to January 2024 were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into control group and observation group according to a lottery method, with 45 cases in each group. The control group received routine intervention, while the observation group received traditional Chinese medicine targeted drug permeation therapy combined with core muscle training on the basis of routine intervention. The rehabilitation indicators, lumbar pain degree, straight leg raise height and lumbar curvature value, lower limb nerve conduction velocity, and lumbar function were compared between the two groups. Results: The first time of getting out of bed and total hospitalization time of the observation group were shorter than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After 2 weeks of intervention, the visual analog scale (VAS) score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, while the straight leg raise height and lumbar curvature value were higher than those of the control group. The common peroneal nerve conduction velocity and tibial nerve conduction velocity of the observation group were faster than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After 2 weeks of intervention, the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, while the Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) score was higher than that of the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The application of traditional Chinese medicine targeted drug permeation therapy combined with core muscle training in LDH patients can promote postoperative rehabilitation, reduce lumbar pain, improve straight leg raise height and lumbar curvature value, and enhance lower limb nerve conduction velocity and lumbar function.
