Advances in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injuries in Adolescents
Abstract:Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries in adolescents are increasingly attracting attention, as they occur during a special period of growth and development, and there is still controversy regarding the management of such injuries. Currently, the diagnosis of ACL injuries in adolescents typically relies on a combination of medical history, specialized physical examination, and specific imaging studies. Treatment options mainly include conservative rehabilitation therapy and surgical treatment. Surgical approaches are diverse and require consideration of various factors such as the patient's age, degree of skeletal maturity, and level of physical activity to select the most appropriate individualized surgical method. This article summarizes recent advances in the diagnosis and treatment of ACL injuries in adolescents by reviewing relevant literature from both domestic and international sources.
