Practical Techniques for Aquaculture in Mountainous Areas of Chongqing
Abstract:Currently, the aquaculture industry is facing certain difficulties. On one hand, the prices of production factors such as feed and energy continue to rise, leading to constantly increasing breeding costs; on the other hand, the market prices of major aquatic products have fallen, and many breeders are hovering near the break-even point, with their profit margins severely compressed. In addition, the requirement for the discharge of breeding wastewater up to standard has become a hard threshold, making traditional high-pollution and low-efficiency breeding models unsustainable. In this context, how to break through the deadlock has become the key to the development of the aquaculture industry. To this end, Chongqing's fisheries have implemented and carried out the 'Five Major Actions', adhering to innovation while exploring practical technologies such as integrated breeding and farming, fish-vegetable symbiosis, localized drug use in ponds, and removal of wild and miscellaneous fish. These measures aim to recycle breeding wastewater, thereby protecting the water environment and achieving cost reduction and efficiency enhancement, providing a useful reference for promoting high-quality development of fisheries.
