Economic Efficiency Analysis of the 'Grass Carp + Crucian Carp' Farming Model in Jiangsu Region
Abstract:Pond mixed farming is a green and high-yield farming model that can reasonably utilize feed and water layers, fully leverage the interactions between farmed fish, and improve farming yields. Liu Banghui et al. (2020) studied the pond mixed farming model of tilapia—bighead carp—Macrobrachium rosenbergii and found that mixed farming accelerated the transfer and transformation of nutrients, improving the utilization rate of feed and organic particles. Zhu Fangjian et al. (2011) analyzed the water quality of the Pacific white shrimp—grass carp mixed farming model and found that the concentrations of NO2- and COD in the mixed farming group were significantly lower than those in the single farming group. Additionally, the average weight, survival rate, and yield per unit area of Pacific white shrimp in the mixed farming group were 6.24%, 26.25%, and 55.86% higher, respectively, compared to the single farming group. Jiangsu has rich water and tidal resources, and its freshwater fisheries output has ranked third in the country for many years (Wang Jing et al., 2022).
