Large-Scale Seedling Cultivation Technology of Red Claw Crayfish in Greenhouse
Abstract:Due to climatic constraints, most regions are unable to achieve natural overwintering and self-reproduction of red claw crayfish. Seedlings are mostly purchased from the Pearl River Delta region. Long-distance transportation leads to low survival rates of seedlings, insufficient supply of large-sized seedlings, and high prices, which in turn cause problems such as short breeding cycles and small sizes of marketable shrimp. Therefore, enhancing the local cultivation capacity of red claw crayfish seedlings, achieving a stable supply of large-sized seedlings, and extending the breeding cycle have become key links in promoting industrial development. In 2024, the Shanghai Songjiang District Aquatic Technology Extension Station collaborated with the Shanghai Yuyue Aquatic Products Professional Cooperative to conduct a trial on large-scale seedling cultivation of red claw crayfish in greenhouses, successfully achieving local seedling cultivation and supply. The experimental process and results are summarized below for reference in industry promotion.
