Application of Microorganisms in the Treatment of Aquaculture Wastewater
Abstract:The pollution sources of aquaculture water bodies in China are mainly divided into two categories: exogenous and endogenous pollution sources. Exogenous pollution sources include industrial wastewater, agricultural and domestic sewage. Endogenous pollution sources include leftover feed and feces, drug residues, and accumulated substances in the sediment. Microorganisms play a major role in the treatment of aquaculture wastewater, including odor removal and carbon reduction, bioflocculation, nitrogen removal, phosphorus fixation, sulfur removal, degradation of harmful chemicals, and ecological restoration. Commonly used microorganisms include nitrifying bacteria, denitrifying bacteria, photosynthetic bacteria, bacillus, yeast, lactic acid bacteria, and composite microorganisms (such as EM菌).
