Breeding Trials of Juvenile Crabs in Saline-Alkaline Ponds and Rice Fields in Ningxia
Abstract：In recent years, the crab farming industry in Ningxia has developed rapidly. However, problems such as the difficulty in supplying high-quality seedlings have constrained the development of the industry. To address this, aquaculture practitioners in Ningxia have attempted to start from the juvenile crab breeding stage, cultivating high-quality juvenile crabs locally for use in the following year's farming. Ningxia Xinweihang Agricultural Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. introduced mature crab varieties, referred to as 'JA', 'JB', and 'NC', for traditional pond breeding of juvenile crabs, and used the 'GD' variety for rice field breeding of juvenile crabs.
