Abstract：The Yikou New Lipstick Fish belongs to the family Cyprinidae, subfamily Barbinae, genus Neoliparis, and was previously known as Medog Four-barred Barb and Yikou Four-barred Barb. It is a unique species in Yunnan, with a relatively narrow distribution range and limited population size. It is a local endemic fish mainly distributed in the Longchuan River, Daying River, and Mengdian River within Dehong Prefecture, Yunnan. In recent years, the Yikou New Lipstick Fish has become popular among aquarium enthusiasts due to its unique coloration and elegant body shape, becoming a rising star in the Giro Circle of ornamental fish.
