Effects of Home Exercise Rehabilitation Prescriptions Based on Cardiac Rehabilitation Assessment on Cardiopulmonary Function, Exercise Fear, and Health-Related Behaviors in Middle-Aged Patients After Radiofrequency Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation
Abstract:Objective: To explore the effects of home exercise rehabilitation prescriptions based on cardiac rehabilitation assessment on cardiopulmonary function, exercise fear, and health-related behaviors in middle-aged patients after radiofrequency ablation for atrial fibrillation. Methods: A total of 105 middle-aged patients who underwent radiofrequency ablation for atrial fibrillation from March 2022 to March 2024 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into a control group (n=52) and an observation group (n=53) using a lottery method. The control group received routine health education and cardiac rehabilitation guidance, while the observation group received home exercise rehabilitation prescriptions based on cardiac rehabilitation assessment. Follow-up was conducted for 6 months, and the cardiopulmonary function, exercise fear, health-related behaviors, and recurrence rate of the two groups were compared. Results: After intervention, the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of both groups increased, with the observation group showing higher values than the control group (P<0.05). The left ventricular posterior wall thickness (LVPW) and left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD) decreased, with the observation group showing lower values than the control group (P<0.05). Both groups showed reduced partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PaCO2), with the observation group showing lower values than the control group (P<0.05). Arterial oxygen saturation (SaO2) and partial pressure of oxygen (PaO2) increased, with the observation group showing higher values than the control group (P<0.05). The scores for all dimensions of exercise fear (exercise fear, exercise avoidance, functional disturbance, and risk perception) in both groups decreased, with the observation group scoring lower than the control group (P<0.05). The scores for health-related behaviors (regular monitoring, adherence to medical advice, psychological care, and lifestyle) in both groups increased, with the observation group scoring higher than the control group (P<0.05). The recurrence rate of atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency ablation in the control group was 17.31% (9/52), which was higher than that in the observation group at 3.77% (2/53), with a statistically significant difference (t=3.955, P=0.047). Conclusion: Applying home exercise rehabilitation prescriptions based on cardiac rehabilitation assessment in middle-aged patients after radiofrequency ablation for atrial fibrillation can improve their cardiopulmonary function, enhance health-related behavior levels, reduce exercise fear, and decrease the recurrence rate of atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency ablation.
