Meta Analysis of the Incidence and Risk Factors of Venous Thromboembolism in Critically Ill Children
Abstract:Objective: To explore the incidence and risk factors of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in critically ill children through a meta-analysis, providing reference for the prevention and treatment of VTE in this population. Methods: Relevant Chinese and English literature on risk factors of VTE in critically ill children were selected for meta-analysis. Stata 17.0 software was used to analyze the risk factors and their impact levels. Results: A total of 13 articles were included, extracting 13 risk factors. The meta-analysis results showed that central venous catheter (OR=2.47), sepsis (OR=7.97), cancer (OR=3.06), infection (OR=8.27), D-dimer (OR=10.46), and SpO2-rSO2>30% (OR=4.20) were significantly associated with VTE in critically ill children (P<0.05), indicating they are risk factors for VTE in this group. Conclusion: The occurrence of VTE in critically ill children is influenced by factors such as central venous catheter, sepsis, cancer, infection, D-dimer, and SpO2-rSO2>30%. Future interventions should focus on these modifiable risk factors for precise management.
