Application Study of Duzhi Therapy in Yang-Deficiency Constitution

Abstract：Objective: To explore the effects of Duzhi therapy on immunity [immunoglobulin A (IgA), immunoglobulin G (IgG), immunoglobulin M (IgM)], constitution, and health level in individuals with Yang-deficiency constitution. Methods: A total of 60 individuals with Yang-deficiency constitution who received treatment at the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine in a tertiary general hospital in Yinchuan from July 2023 to June 2024 were conveniently selected as study subjects. The subjects were numbered from 1 to 60 according to the order of their treatment, and the numbers were placed in envelopes. Those with even numbers were assigned to the experimental group, and those with odd numbers were assigned to the control group, with 30 cases in each group. The experimental group received Duzhi therapy, while the control group received conventional moxibustion treatment. Before (the second day of outpatient treatment) and after (the last day of outpatient treatment) the intervention, the levels of IgA, IgG, and IgM were detected in both groups, and the TCM constitution scale and Self-Rating Health Questionnaire were used to assess the transformation score of Yang-deficiency constitution and the health level of the two groups. Results: There were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in IgA, IgG, IgM levels, Yang-deficiency constitution transformation scores, or Self-Rating Health Questionnaire scores before the intervention (P > 0.05). After the intervention, the experimental group had higher levels of IgA, IgG, IgM, and Self-Rating Health Questionnaire scores compared to the control group, and lower Yang-deficiency constitution transformation scores, with all differences being statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Implementing Duzhi therapy can better enhance the immunity of individuals with Yang-deficiency constitution and improve their physical condition, promoting health.
