Construction and Application of Standard Operating Procedures for Perioperative Nursing of Cataract Patients Based on Medical Consortium
Abstract：Objective: To construct a standard operating procedure (SOP) for perioperative nursing of cataract patients based on a medical consortium, and to explore its application effect. Methods: A total of 120 patients who underwent cataract surgery in three affiliated grassroots hospitals within the hospital's medical consortium from January to June 2023 were selected as the control group and received routine perioperative nursing. Another 120 patients from July 2023 to March 2024 were selected as the observation group and received the SOP for perioperative nursing of cataract patients. The two groups were compared in terms of the completeness of preoperative preparation, intraoperative cooperation, implementation of postoperative health education, incidence of complications, and satisfaction with surgical outcomes among medical staff, patients, and their families. Results: The completeness of preoperative preparation and the implementation of postoperative health education in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05). Intraoperative cooperation was significantly better in the observation group (P < 0.05), and the incidence of postoperative complications was lower in the observation group (P < 0.05). Satisfaction with the surgical outcome was higher in the observation group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Implementation of the SOP for perioperative nursing of cataract patients within a regional medical consortium is beneficial in improving the completeness of preoperative preparation, intraoperative cooperation, and implementation of postoperative health education, reducing the incidence of postoperative complications, and enhancing the satisfaction of medical staff, patients, and their families.
