Abstract:Objective: To explore the impact of belief support combined with mood diary based on the Cox-IMCHB theory on psychological distress, mindfulness level, and emotions in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma undergoing interventional therapy. Methods: A total of 160 patients who underwent interventional therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma at the Department of Interventional Radiology, Nantong Third People's Hospital, Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University, Jiangsu Province, from January 2021 to January 2024 were selected as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into a conventional group and a study group, each with 80 cases. The conventional group received basic nursing care, while the study group received an intervention combining belief support with a mood diary based on the Cox-IMCHB theory. The psychological distress, mindfulness level, and emotional status of both groups were compared before and after the intervention. Results: After the intervention, the psychological distress score of the study group was (3.52±1.09) points, significantly lower than that of the conventional group (P=0.002), and the degree of psychological distress was also significantly lower in the study group (P=0.021). After the intervention, the Five-Factor Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ) score of the study group was (160.58±9.52) points, significantly higher than that of the conventional group (P<0.001). After the intervention, the anxiety and depression scores of the study group on the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) were (5.15±1.06) points and (5.38±1.07) points, respectively, both significantly lower than those of the conventional group (P<0.001). Conclusion: Implementing an intervention combining belief support with a mood diary based on the Cox-IMCHB theory for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma undergoing interventional therapy can effectively reduce their psychological distress and is of great significance in improving their mindfulness level and alleviating negative emotions.
