Effect of Good Limb Positioning Combined with Comprehensive Rehabilitation Training on Upper Limb Swelling and Upper Limb Function in Patients with Shoulder-Hand Syndrome After Stroke
Abstract:Objective: To analyze the effect of good limb positioning combined with comprehensive rehabilitation training on upper limb swelling and upper limb function in patients with shoulder-hand syndrome after stroke. Methods: A total of 90 patients with shoulder-hand syndrome after stroke admitted to the hospital from January 2022 to January 2025 were selected and divided into two groups by the ball-drawing method. Among them, 45 patients who drew odd numbers were assigned to the control group and received good limb positioning. Another 45 patients who drew even numbers were assigned to the observation group and received good limb positioning combined with comprehensive rehabilitation training. The upper limb swelling degree, upper limb function, and shoulder joint range of motion were compared between the two groups. Results: After nursing, the 8-figure bandage method and the circumference of the metacarpophalangeal joints in the observation group were smaller than those in the control group (P<0.05). The scores of the Shoulder-Hand Syndrome Scoring Scale (SHSS) in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, while the Fugl-Meyer Assessment of Motor Function for the Upper Extremity (FMA-UE) scores were higher (P<0.05). The range of motion of the shoulder joint in external rotation, flexion, extension, and abduction in the observation group was greater than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Good limb positioning combined with comprehensive rehabilitation training can alleviate upper limb swelling, improve upper limb function, and increase the range of motion of the shoulder joint in patients with shoulder-hand syndrome after stroke.
