Design of a Nasal Secretion Absorption Structure and Its Application in Patients After Endoscopic Surgery for Chronic Rhinosinusitis
Abstract:Objective: To introduce a nasal secretion absorption structure that does not affect breathing, and to explore its application in patients after endoscopic surgery for chronic rhinosinusitis. Methods: A convenience sampling method was used to select 47 patients with nasal secretions after endoscopic surgery for chronic rhinosinusitis in the Department of Otolaryngology at the hospital from March to June 2024. The patients were divided into an experimental group (n=22) and a control group (n=25) according to a random number table method. The experimental group used the nasal secretion absorption structure, while the control group used traditional paper towels or gauze for wiping. The comfort score, ventilation degree score, and effectiveness rate of quality of life improvement were compared between the two groups. Results: The comfort score and nasal patency score of the experimental group were lower than those of the control group, and the effectiveness rate of quality of life improvement was higher in the experimental group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The designed nasal secretion absorption structure can improve the comfort of patients after endoscopic surgery for chronic rhinosinusitis, enhance the sense of nasal patency, and effectively improve the quality of life of hospitalized patients.
