Application of Modified Upper Limb Position on the Surgical Side Under Erb's Point Electrophysiological Monitoring in Patients Undergoing Lateral Decubitus Surgery
Abstract:Objective: To explore the application effect of modified upper limb position on the surgical side in patients undergoing lateral decubitus surgery through intraoperative electrophysiological monitoring of Erb's point potential. Methods: A total of 100 surgical patients undergoing lateral decubitus surgery in the hospital's surgical ward from January 2021 to January 2023 were selected as the study subjects. The 100 patients were divided into an experimental group and a control group according to the order of surgical time, with 50 cases in each group. The control group used the conventional position, while the experimental group used the modified position. The abnormal rate of N9 wave during surgery, the time required for positioning, the incidence of positioning complications, and the function of the shoulder and elbow joints on the surgical side were compared between the two groups. Results: The abnormal rate of N9 wave in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group, the positioning time was shorter, the incidence of positioning complications was lower, and the elbow joint function on the surgical side was better, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.005). Conclusion: The application of modified upper limb positioning can reduce the risk of nerve injury and the incidence of positioning complications during lateral decubitus surgery.
