Application of the TeamSTEPPS Training Model in the Quality of Operating Room Nursing Management
Abstract:Objective: To explore the effect of the TeamSTEPPS training model on the quality of operating room nursing management. Methods: A total of 157 operating room nurses from the hospital between August 2020 and August 2023 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into a control group (n=77) and an observation group (n=80) using a random number table method. The control group received conventional training and management, while the observation group was implemented with the TeamSTEPPS training model on this basis. The core competencies, adverse event reporting situations, and changes in nursing quality of the two groups before and after the intervention were observed and compared. Results: After the intervention, the core competencies of the nursing staff in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group (P<0.05); the adverse event reporting situation of the nursing staff in the observation group was significantly improved compared to the control group (P<0.05); the nursing quality of the nursing staff in the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The TeamSTEPPS training model can effectively improve the core competencies of operating room nursing staff, such as specialized practice and critical thinking, improve the standards and attitudes towards adverse event reporting, thereby further enhancing the quality of nursing care.
