Research on the Risk Prediction Model for Venous Thromboembolism in Urology Patients
Abstract:Objective: To explore the risk factors for venous thromboembolism (VTE) in urology patients and to construct a risk prediction model. Methods: A retrospective case-control study was conducted, selecting 97 patients with VTE in the urology department from January 2018 to June 2023 as the VTE group. Control subjects were 194 patients without VTE during the same period, matched by admission diagnosis/surgery name at a ratio of 1:2. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to identify individual risk factors and laboratory indicators for VTE in urology patients, and to build a risk model. The model was internally validated using the Bootstrap method. Results: Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that pulmonary infection, urinary tract infection, central venous catheterization, D-dimer, and procalcitonin were independent risk factors for VTE in urology patients. The Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness-of-fit test yielded χ2 = 5.151, P > 0.05. The model's AUC value was 0.918, with the maximum Youden index of 0.696, sensitivity of 85.6%, and specificity of 84.0%. Conclusion: The constructed risk prediction model has good predictive ability and can help nursing staff identify high-risk patients for VTE in urology.
