Evidence-Based Nursing Practice for Perioperative Exercise Rehabilitation in Patients with Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
Abstract:Objective: To evaluate the effect of applying the best evidence of exercise rehabilitation during the perioperative period on clinical practice in patients with non-small cell lung cancer. Methods: Based on existing best evidence, combined with clinical scenarios to screen the best evidence, an evidence-based practice plan was developed and implemented in the thoracic surgery department of a tertiary A hospital in Henan Province from November to December 2023. The incidence of postoperative complications in lung cancer patients, the level of nurses' knowledge about exercise rehabilitation, and the compliance rate of review items were compared before and after the application of evidence. Results: A total of 12 pieces of evidence were included and 14 quality review indicators were developed. After the application of evidence, the incidence of postoperative pulmonary complications was 20.0%, which was lower than 32.5% before the application of evidence; the score of the questionnaire on exercise rehabilitation knowledge for nurses was (88.89±9.63), higher than (57.78±22.64) before the application of evidence (P<0.01); attitude score (49.50±4.44), higher than (42.78±8.26) before the application of evidence (P<0.05). The execution rates of review indicators 2, 3, 7, 10, and 12 were significantly higher after the application of evidence (P<0.05). Conclusion: Applying the best evidence of exercise rehabilitation during the perioperative period for lung cancer patients can improve the level of nurses' knowledge about exercise rehabilitation and the compliance rate of review indicators, promoting early recovery of patients.
