The Effect of Self-Prepared Qushidu Toxin-Removing Decoction Fumigation on Patients After External Hemorrhoidectomy and Internal Ligature for Mixed Hemorrhoids
Abstract：Objective: To explore the effect of self-prepared Qushidu toxin-removing decoction fumigation as an adjunctive treatment for patients after external hemorrhoidectomy and internal ligature for mixed hemorrhoids. Methods: A total of 97 patients with mixed hemorrhoids who underwent external hemorrhoidectomy and internal ligature at Kaifeng Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from November 2021 to November 2023 were selected as study subjects. They were randomly divided into a control group (n=48) and an observation group (n=49) using a random number table method. The control group received oral treatment with Ruscus aculeatus extract, while the observation group received additional self-prepared Qushidu toxin-removing decoction fumigation. The clinical efficacy, degree of anal margin pain and edema, histopathological indicators, and serum inflammatory factor levels were compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the levels of serum tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), and interleukin-6 (IL-6) in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The visual analog scale (VAS) score, edema score, and exudate score were also lower in the observation group (P<0.05). At 7 and 10 days after treatment, the number of capillaries and fibroblasts in the observation group was higher than that in the control group. The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Self-prepared Qushidu toxin-removing decoction fumigation as an adjunctive treatment for patients after external hemorrhoidectomy and internal ligature for mixed hemorrhoids has a definite effect, which can effectively alleviate the degree of anal margin pain and edema, reduce serum inflammatory factor levels, and improve histopathological indicators.
