Application of Medical Guidance Games in Pediatric Renal Biopsy
Abstract:Objective: To explore the application effect of medical guidance games in pediatric renal biopsy. Methods: From January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2022, children who underwent renal biopsy were randomly divided into three groups: control group, video group, and game group, each with 50 cases. The control group received routine pre-biopsy education and nursing; the video group added watching an animated video about renal biopsy on the basis of the control group; the game group received medical guidance game intervention on top of the first two groups. The anxiety levels of the children, intraoperative pain levels, compliance, and the preoperative anxiety levels and satisfaction of the parents were compared among the three groups. Results: There was no significant difference in anxiety levels among the three groups before the intervention. After the intervention, the anxiety levels of the game group and video group decreased significantly compared to before the intervention (P < 0.05), and the anxiety level of the game group was significantly lower than that of the other two groups (P < 0.05). The intraoperative pain scores of the three groups were ranked as follows: game group < video group < control group, with statistically significant differences between each pair (P < 0.05). The compliance of the children in the game group was significantly higher than that of the other two groups (P = 0.022). The preoperative anxiety level of the parents of the children in the game group was significantly lower than that of the other two groups (P < 0.05), and the satisfaction of the parents of the children in the game group was higher than that of the other two groups. Although there was no statistically significant difference among the three groups overall (P = 0.189), there was a statistically significant difference between the game group and the control group (P = 0.047). Conclusion: Medical guidance games can alleviate the anxiety of children and their parents before renal biopsy, improve the compliance of children during the operation, relieve the perception of pain, and enhance nursing satisfaction.
