A Review of the Application Scope of Visual-Spatial Cognitive Task Intervention in Intrusive Memories of Trauma Patients
Abstract:Objective: To systematically analyze the relevant studies on the application of visual-spatial cognitive task intervention in intrusive memories of trauma patients, summarize the basic content and current application status of visual-spatial cognitive task intervention, and provide references for conducting visual-spatial cognitive task intervention and related research on trauma patients. Methods: Computerized retrieval was conducted in domestic and international databases including China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Database, VIP Chinese Journal Database, China Biological Medicine Literature Database, PubMed, Web of Science, CINAHL, OVID, and Embase, with the retrieval time frame from the establishment of the database to May 25, 2023. The included literature was summarized and analyzed. Results: A total of 13 articles were included, all of which were randomized controlled trials. The intervention subjects were experimental trauma healthy individuals and clinical trauma patients; the intervention timing was mostly 4 hours and 24 hours, with a frequency of once, and the duration was mostly 10-20 minutes; the specific intervention methods mainly involved the game of Tetris; the main evaluation indicators were the total number of intrusive memories in the first week after trauma. Conclusion: Visual-spatial cognitive task intervention can effectively reduce the number of early intrusive memories in patients and improve their quality of life. Future research should further develop a visual-spatial cognitive task intervention program, carry out early preventive intervention on trauma patients, and verify its long-term effectiveness.
