Concept Analysis of Mindfulness
Abstract:Objective: To define the concept of mindfulness using Walker and Avant's concept analysis method. Methods: A systematic search was conducted in databases such as CNKI, China Biological Medicine Literature Service System, VIP Database, Wanfang Database, CINAHL Complete, PubMed, Google Scholar, and HealthSource. Relevant literature was selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, with a total of 32 papers included. The concept of mindfulness was analyzed in depth from seven dimensions: concept application, definition attributes, typical cases, opposite cases, antecedent conditions, consequent effects, and empirical tools. Results: Mindfulness has three core related attributes: focused attention, non-judgmental self-acceptance, and wise coping. The practical antecedent conditions include focused practice and an open attitude, while the consequent effects mainly include improving mental health, enhancing interpersonal relationships, and promoting self-growth and development. Conclusion: This study analyzed the concept of mindfulness, clarified its attributes and effects, and provided a theoretical basis for medical staff to carry out mindfulness-related nursing practices. In addition, this study provides an important reference for future research on mindfulness, which helps promote the development and improvement of mindfulness assessment tools and theoretical models.
