Study on the Effect of Health Management Intervention Model on Patients with Lung Cancer Who Carry an Arm Port
Abstract:Objective: To construct a health management intervention model for patients with lung cancer who carry an arm port and evaluate its clinical application effect. Methods: A convenience sampling method was used to select 66 patients with lung cancer admitted to a tertiary A hospital in Zhengzhou from January to April 2023 as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into an experimental group (n=33) and a control group (n=33) according to a random number table. The experimental group received health management intervention, while the control group received routine care. The scores of the Self-Efficacy Scale for Healthy Behavior, the Quality of Life Questionnaire, the incidence of complications related to the arm port, and D-dimer levels were compared between the two groups before and after the intervention. Results: There were statistically significant differences in the self-efficacy scores for healthy behavior between the two groups at the third and fourth weeks of intervention (P<0.05). There were statistically significant differences in the functional dimension scores of the Quality of Life Questionnaire for cancer patients between the two groups at the third and fourth weeks of intervention (P<0.05). There were statistically significant differences in the symptom dimension scores of the Quality of Life Questionnaire for cancer patients between the two groups at the second, third, and fourth weeks of intervention (P<0.05). The incidence of complications related to the arm port in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05), and the D-dimer level after intervention in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Implementing a health management intervention model can improve the self-management efficacy and quality of life of patients with lung cancer who carry an arm port, which is beneficial for improving clinical outcome indicators.
