Construction and Effect Evaluation of Discharge Preparation Service Program for Patients with Pacemaker Implantation
Abstract:Objective: To construct a discharge preparation service program for patients with pacemaker implantation and verify its clinical intervention effect. Methods: A convenience sample of 68 patients with pacemaker implantation in a tertiary hospital in Henan Province was selected. Thirty-four patients admitted between March and May 2023 were selected as the control group and received routine nursing care for pacemaker implantation patients. Thirty-four patients admitted between June and August 2023 were selected as the observation group and received a discharge preparation service program constructed based on the goal attainment theory. The discharge preparedness, quality of discharge instructions, and quality of life at 1 month and 3 months after intervention were compared between the two groups. Results: Three cases were lost to follow-up, and 65 cases completed the intervention, including 33 in the control group and 32 in the observation group. The total scores of discharge preparedness and quality of discharge instructions in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05). At 1 month and 3 months after intervention, the total scores of quality of life in the observation group were also higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05). Repeated measures ANOVA showed that the time effect, group effect, and interaction effect of quality of life scores between the two groups at different time points were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The discharge preparation service program for patients with pacemaker implantation constructed based on the goal attainment theory is scientific and feasible, which can improve the discharge preparedness and quality of discharge instructions, and enhance the quality of life of patients.
