3D LBM Simulation Study on the Displacement Process of Kitchen Waste Oil by Supercritical CO2
Abstract:The lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) was used for simulation, replacing the main component of edible oil, oleic acid, with grease to investigate the displacement process of supercritical CO2 (scCO2)/oleic acid in porous media, and to analyze the effects of interfacial tension coefficient G, viscosity ratio M, and wettability on the displacement efficiency. The results show that reducing the interfacial tension coefficient (G=0.04) significantly enhances the miscibility between scCO2 and oleic acid, suppresses the fingering phenomenon, and improves the displacement efficiency by about 4% compared to G=0.12. A lower viscosity ratio (M=100) reduces the flow resistance of scCO2 by affecting the initial kinetic energy, improving the displacement efficiency by 4% compared to M=800. A wetting wall surface (Gw1=-0.02) accelerates the arrival of the scCO2 displacement front at the outlet and better displaces the oleic acid adhering to the wall, increasing the displacement efficiency by 15% compared to a non-wetting wall surface (Gw1=0.02).
