Research Progress on Metabolic Reprogramming and Ischemic Stroke
Abstract:Ischemic stroke (IS) refers to the sudden narrowing or occlusion of cerebral blood vessels, leading to severe cerebral hypoperfusion and subsequent brain tissue necrosis [1]. Over the past decade, the incidence and mortality of IS have continued to rise, with major risk factors including hypertension, diabetes, smoking, and hyperlipidemia [2]. Currently, the main treatments for IS are recombinant tissue-type plasminogen activator (r-tPA) and endovascular mechanical thrombectomy. However, these methods need to be performed within 4.5–9.0 hours after symptom onset, limiting the possibility of timely treatment for many patients [3].
