Clinical Study of Conbercept Combined with Laser for Ischemic Retinal Branch Vein Occlusion-Associated Macular Edema
Abstract:Objective: To explore the clinical effects of conbercept combined with laser therapy on ischemic retinal branch vein occlusion-associated macular edema (RVO-ME). Methods: A total of 92 patients with ischemic RVO-ME who visited the Second People's Hospital of Xinxiang City from June 2020 to May 2023 were selected as the study subjects. Patients were divided into two groups based on different treatment methods: the control group (46 cases) and the experimental group (46 cases). The control group received laser therapy, while the experimental group received additional intravitreal injection of conbercept combined with laser therapy. The clinical efficacy, best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), central macular thickness (CMT), superficial capillary plexus (SCP), and deep capillary plexus (DCP) were compared between the two groups. The number of injections and safety were also recorded. Results: After treatment, the cure rate of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group. One month, two months, and three months after treatment, BCVA in both groups improved, with the experimental group showing better results (t=1.103, 2.138, 5.000, P<0.05). One month, two months, and three months after treatment, CMT in both groups decreased, with the experimental group showing significantly lower values (t=3.420, 2.489, 4.043, P<0.05). Three and six months after treatment, SCP and DCP in both groups increased compared to pre-treatment levels, with the experimental group showing significantly better results (t=5.100, 13.518, 34.174, 31.350, P<0.001). No adverse reactions were observed during follow-up in either group. Conclusion: Intravitreal injection of conbercept combined with laser therapy can significantly improve vision, reduce CMT, and increase retinal vascular perfusion area, showing promising therapeutic effects.
