Chronic Toxicity Effects and Mechanisms of Lambda-Cyhalothrin on Daphnia magna
Abstract:This study evaluated the chronic toxicity of lambda-cyhalothrin to Daphnia magna. The results showed that compared with the control, at an exposure concentration of 0.4 μg/L lambda-cyhalothrin, the first reproduction time of Daphnia magna was prolonged by 2.2 days, the number of first reproduction decreased by 44.19%, the number of reproductions and total reproduction quantity decreased by 2.75 times and 45.56%, respectively, the number of molting decreased by 62.85%, and the body length decreased by 67.43%. However, no significant effects were observed at a concentration of 0.1 μg/L. The treatment at 0.4 μg/L significantly inhibited the activity of SOD, catalase (CAT), and chitinase, leading to a decrease in GSH content; the MDA content increased with the increase in treatment concentration. The study results provide a reference for the scientific assessment of the environmental risk of lambda-cyhalothrin in aquatic ecosystems.
