Identification of the Biocontrol Bacterium Q110 Antagonistic to Fusarium Head Blight in Wheat and Optimization of Its Fermentation Conditions
Abstract:To obtain biocontrol bacteria antagonistic to Fusarium head blight in wheat, 173 bacterial strains were isolated and purified from wheat straw. Five biocontrol bacteria were screened through antagonistic confrontation experiments, and further identified by 16S rRNA and housekeeping genes GroEL and tuf1 as Bacillus subtilis Q110 with high antagonistic activity. The fermentation conditions of B. subtilis Q110 were further optimized. The results showed that B. subtilis Q110 could produce a fermentation broth with high antibacterial activity when cultured at 34 ℃, 140 r/min in King's B medium with pH=5.5 for 48 hours, and its inhibition rate against Fusarium head blight pathogen reached 75.28%. This study provides new resources for the development of biopesticides against wheat fusarium head blight.
