Field Trial on the Control Effect of Three Pesticides against Peanut White Grubs
Abstract:To screen for efficient pesticides to control peanut white grubs and improve peanut yield and quality, this experiment applied three pesticide treatments during the sowing period of peanuts: seed coating with 25% imidacloprid suspension agent, drenching with 3,000 times dilution of 40% chlorantraniliprole + trichlorfon emulsifiable concentrate, and drenching with 3,000 times dilution of 37.5% fluvalinate + fenoxycarb microcapsule suspension agent. The number of sprouted pods, rotten pods, white grub population density, and plot yield were investigated and statistically analyzed at the mature stage of peanuts. The field efficacy of the three pesticides against peanut white grubs was compared. The results showed that the treatment with 25% imidacloprid suspension agent had the least sprouted pods (5 per 10 plants), the least rotten pods (10.33 per 10 plants), the lowest white grub population density (1.50 per m²), and the highest plot yield (360.59 kg/667m²). Its control effect was significantly higher than that of 40% chlorantraniliprole + trichlorfon emulsifiable concentrate at 3,000 times dilution and 37.5% fluvalinate + fenoxycarb microcapsule suspension agent at 3,000 times dilution. The treatment with 25% imidacloprid seed coating showed good control effect against peanut white grubs and is recommended for promotion in production.
