Demonstration of Green Pest Control Technology for the Entire Growth Period of Open-Field Summer Cucumber Beans in Fang County
Abstract:Cucumber beans are one of the traditional advantageous vegetable crops in Fang County. In production, they are prone to various pests and diseases, especially thrips, bean aphids, bean pod borer, and fruit borers, which cause serious damage. Farmers often overuse chemical pesticides, but the control effect on thrips is poor, leading to issues such as pesticide residue exceeding standards and environmental pollution. Green pest control technology is an effective means to continuously manage pest and disease occurrences and ensure that pesticide residues do not exceed standards. This paper, through preliminary field research, initially understood and mastered the types and occurrence patterns of major pests and diseases in different growth periods of open-field cucumber beans in Fang County, and explored the practical application effects of green pest control schemes for the entire growth period of open-field cucumber beans. The results showed that the formulated green pest control technology could effectively control the occurrence and damage of pests and diseases in open-field cucumber beans. The use of chemical pesticides was reduced by more than 58% compared to the self-protection area of farmers. All pesticide residue tests of cucumber bean samples were qualified, with an average increase of 123 yuan per 667 m². This technical scheme can be gradually promoted and applied in the production of open-field summer cucumber beans.
