Comparative Field Efficacy of Five Insecticides Against the Rice Leaf Roller
Abstract:To scientifically and effectively control the rice leaf roller, this study evaluated the field efficacy of five types of insecticides against the rice leaf roller in order to screen for agents with good efficacy and ecological safety. The results showed that 20% tetraniliprole SC, 5% emamectin benzoate ME, and 20% chlorantraniliprole SC exhibited good quick-acting effects, with control efficiencies of 80.37%, 79.15%, and 74.21%, respectively, 7 days after treatment. The 20% tetraniliprole SC and 20% chlorantraniliprole SC had longer residual effects, with control efficiencies of 81.66% and 79.58%, respectively, 14 days after treatment. The 16,000 IU/mg Bacillus thuringiensis WP (100-150 g/667m²) had a control efficiency of 54.08% 14 days after treatment, which was lower than that of chemical agents but could serve as a reserve biological pesticide. Considering quick-acting effect, residual effect, and ecological safety, it is recommended to use four types of pesticides: 20% tetraniliprole SC, 20% chlorantraniliprole SC, 5% emamectin benzoate ME, and 16,000 IU/mg Bacillus thuringiensis WP for controlling the rice leaf roller, and to use them in a reasonable rotation to achieve scientific pest control.
