Study on the Control Effect of Eight Herbicides on Annual Weeds in Direct-Seeded Rice Fields
Abstract:To investigate the control effects of eight different foliar herbicides on different weeds in direct-seeded rice fields, a randomized block design was used. Five herbicides including pentazopyrad, propanil, oxazosulfyl, cyhalofop-butyl, pyribenzoxim, florasulam, imazosulfuron, and bispyribac-sodium were applied as foliar sprays during the 3-4 leaf stage of direct-seeded rice. The control effect on weed plants was measured 15 days after treatment, and the control effect on weed plants and fresh weight was measured 30 days after treatment. The results showed that the control effects of the herbicides on different weeds varied significantly. Oxazosulfyl had the best control effect on Echinochloa crus-galli, followed by propanil and pyribenzoxim; cyhalofop-butyl had the best control effect on Leptochloa chinensis, followed by oxazosulfyl. Florasulam, imazosulfuron, and bispyribac-sodium showed significant control effects on broadleaf weeds such as Ludwigia prostrata, Hydrocotyle vulgaris, and Cyperus difformis, and florasulam also showed good control effect on Echinochloa crus-galli. In summary, it is recommended to use oxazosulfyl and cyhalofop-butyl to control Echinochloa crus-galli and Leptochloa chinensis in local direct-seeded rice production, and to combine them with florasulam, imazosulfuron, or bispyribac-sodium to control broadleaf weeds and Cyperaceae weeds in the field. For the control of Echinochloa crus-galli, propanil and pyribenzoxim can be alternated to avoid the deepening of resistance.
