Evaluation of the Efficacy and Yield Improvement of Cyproconazole against Wheat Fusarium Head Blight
Abstract:Wheat fusarium head blight seriously threatens the safe production of wheat. To clarify the efficacy of cyproconazole and its formulations against wheat fusarium head blight, a field trial was conducted in Sheyang, Jiangsu in 2024. The efficacy and yield improvement of cyproconazole alone, fluxapyroxad alone, pyraclostrobin plus tebuconazole, cyproconazole plus tebuconazole, and a newly developed formulation of cyproconazole plus fluquinconazole (not yet registered in the market) were compared. The results showed that the combination of 30% fluquinconazole SC (30 mL/667m2) and 25% cyproconazole SC (24 mL/667m2) had the best efficacy against wheat fusarium head blight, with a disease index control efficacy of 94.1% and a yield of 439.3 kg/667m2, which was significantly higher than the single-agent treatments; followed by 480 g/L cyproconazole-tebuconazole SC (disease index control efficacy 91.2%, yield 438.1 kg/667m2) and 40% pyraclostrobin-tebuconazole SC (disease index control efficacy 89.8%, yield 421.7 kg/667m2); the efficacy of cyproconazole SC alone was only 83.9%, indicating that it needs to be combined with tebuconazole or fluquinconazole to enhance its effectiveness. In conclusion, it is recommended to combine cyproconazole with fluquinconazole or tebuconazole and rotate it with pyraclostrobin-tebuconazole to delay the development of resistance in wheat fusarium head blight and ensure effective control.
